Supporting Scotland's transition to a low carbon economy and sustainable use of resources

The Scottish Government is consulting on an update to the Climate Change Act. Read about the proposals and respond to the consultation here.

Read this blog by Dr Mark Winskel, CXC Directorate member, on recent developments and challenges for integrated energy policy making in Scotland.

Scotland has world-leading emission reduction targets and is demonstrating that these can underpin a vibrant economy. This will involve a radical transformation in how we produce and use our energy and manage our land. Policy makers are relying on sound evidence and advice to design effective low carbon policies. These policies need to support new technology developments and also change energy use and emission levels across society.

ClimateXChange focuses on informing land use policies – including policies on peatlands, biodiversity, forestry and agriculture – and on informing energy policy development, including analysis of the social response to energy infrastructure such as wind farms.
